Expansion of Medicare Telehealth Services for 2011

Effective January 1, 2011, CMS has added a number of telehealth services to those reimbursed by Medicare (in a rural HPSA or in a county outside of an MSA). Notably, subsequent hospital care services (codes 99231, 99232, 99233) are now payable (once every 3 days by admitting physician), and the originating site facility fee was raised to $24.10.
